Up Close & Personal with Amy M. Ortega, MD

You may have only heard her on the radio or seen her on television, but many Atlantans know Dr. Amy Ortega personally—she is their trusted plastic surgeon. Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Ortega specializes in cosmetic surgery of the face, breast and body. Many of her female patients come to her with concerns of loose, sagging skin, especially post-pregnancy or following dramatic weight loss. Additionally, she is highly trained in the SPAIR short-scar procedure—a unique approach to breast surgery that produces minimal scarring and a more natural shape.

According to Dr. Ortega, "I chose plastic surgery because I enjoy using my technical skills to really make a difference in people's lives. It's truly amazing to create a physical transformation for someone, but it is even more rewarding to witness the difference it can make in his or her life." When she is not working, Dr. Ortega enjoys gardening, playing piano, and spending time with friends and family.
